Collaboration built my business. It’s true. If I hadn’t met the people I’ve met, networked with, took time to have coffee with, or reached out to, I wouldn’t be in business now. You weren’t meant to do this alone. Even when God created Adam, he realized that he needed companionship, so he blessed him with Eve. So you see, it’s in our DNA to work with and be with other humans.
Take a second and think about the people that you look up to. Do you think they got where they are by themselves? Of course not, they had help and plenty of it. The teamwork mentality makes great things happen. You see it in the Big Brands and organizations all the time. They’re always focused on making the team better so the organization can achieve great things.
It’s too bad that when employees become business owners, they lose the team mentality. It’s not all your fault. You left corporate for a reason and now you have the opportunity to follow your own specific dream and do things your way. Congratulations! But hold up, you can’t do this by yourself, you don’t have the capacity.
Now I didn’t say that you weren’t brilliant in what you do. But, if you’re a coach or service provider that helps women prosper in their purpose or lose weight to become great, chances are you have no idea how to create a website, create an ebook, put together an email campaign, or run Facebook ads. You may know a little about some of those activities, but you don’t know enough to achieve “expert” status.
But you know what? It’s OK, you don’t have to know everything, you just need to concentrate on what you do best and collaborate to achieve the rest.
The reason I say that collaboration is, the new business currency is because when it’s done right, everyone wins. Collaborations with other business owners can help you to:
- Expand your reach
- Increase your authority
- Build your own knowledge
And most importantly raise your bottom line. You went into business to help others do something great AND make money. I am certain that if you are following your passion, you probably don’t feel like you are working, most of the time anyway, however, when rent, cable, internet access, and marketing bills come due, they require a whole lot more than passion to keep going. That’s why collaborating is so important.
Collaboration Pays Bills
Let me give you an example. I met Candice L. Davis and Anita Henderson because we all had a piece of the puzzle that we knew would be a success. I am the techy one: websites and internet marketing are my thing. Anita is a publisher and Candice is a writer. Together, we offer authors the ability to write, publish, and market their business-building book. We introduced our online course to our audience and achieved a Five-figure launch.
Collaboration Gets You Seen
In 2016, I met Ranelli Williams. She was putting together her first conference L.I.F.T. and tapped me to assist her with a marketing plan that included video and a Facebook ad. The conference was such a success that this year, she doubled her efforts and snagged the extremely popular, results-driven master business coach, Aprille Franks-Hunt as her keynote speaker. She also invited me to be on the program as a speaker. Now, I’ll share the stage with the not only Aprille, but also
Check out the speaker line-up!
I would love for you to join me at the conference because I’ll be speaking about, guess what? . . . Collaboration: how I’ve used it to grow my business and how you can use it to grow yours also. Not only that, but I’ll also share what to do and what and who to stay far away from when you are contemplating who to collaborate with and what to collaborate on.
Collaboration can be a WIN/WIN for everyone involved. Come spend some time with me at the l.I.F.T. conference and I’ll show you how to make sure you walk away a winner.
