The results are in; Donald Trump will be the 45th P.O.T.U.S. Did I see this coming? No. Am I in shock? Totally. Will I (and our country) survive? Yes, of course.
Politics isn’t my strong suite and I wouldn’t be writing about Donald Trump if I didn’t feel compelled to share the revelation that overcame me this morning, once I learned that he had actually won.
The first thought I had, after I got up off the floor, was that he actually did it! He really won. If you think about that for just a second, you’ll realize how amazing of an accomplishment this really is.
Over the years Trump has let it be known that he will voice his opinion any time, any place and do it over and over and get louder and louder. So much so that many people wrote him off as being “full of hot air” and stopped taking him seriously.
Then he dropped the biggest bombshell of all that he was running for President of the United States. WHAT??!! It was laughable at best. I chuckled myself.
Who am I kidding? I fell out on the floor laughing!
“Really?” Was all that came to mind seconds after I heard the announcement. I am certain that others felt the same way and began to make their voices heard. No one believed him or even thought that it might be a possibility that he could win.
But Trump wasn’t deterred. He kept going; through the primaries, caucuses, debates, polls and negative publicity. He didn’t stop until he attained his goal.
Now, if the opposite outcome had proved true and he’d lost, you would be hearing from all the nay-sayers and detractors that they “knew this would happen.” But instead, they aren’t saying anything. In fact, most people are in shock that this is actually reality, myself included.
But it also brings me to my whole reason for writing this post and sharing it with you, and that is:
ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS
Don’t ever give up or give in. No matter what others say or do, YOU need to keep your dreams planted firmly in the forefront of your mind so that you envision winning.
Winning over obstacles.
Winning over negativity.
Winning over non-supportive thoughts and actions.
The election outcome may not be what you envisioned happening (or maybe it is), either way you can’t deny the power of one person having a dream then fulfilling it amidst all the people who said that he couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do it.
